Synopsis of
the play Pet-E-Case
This remarkable play was actually composed in 1974, by Nobel Laureate Dario Fo. Although created as a political satire in the then context of Italian political scenario, against the contemporary rulers' much despised 'policy of sacrifice ' , this particular political farce gained Universal proportions as it speaks of existential crisis of the worldwide humanity , the inner conflict of every middle class , struggling citizen which is inevitable in their tireless dream of living a little better!
Director's Note (Pet-E-Case):
The original play, 'Non Si Paga, Non Si Paga' has been translated in multiple European languages transcending beyond its age and native land, and being staged time and again in Netherlands, Germany, France, Spain, UK and USA. The play has even been staged in several states of India, being adapted in their regional vernaculars. It's perpetual appeal for Man's innate wishes and painful struggles garbed in scintillating wit made this play an all-time favourite!
