BONGAON DHULA URANIA is a multidisciplinary theatre group bringing together actors, writers, technicians, singers and musicians. BONGAON DHULA URANIA is formed in the year2007 to explore new avenues of performance and theatre.

The worldwide appeal for the classical plays lay originally in the tremendously exciting, fast-moving, dramatic qualities of the play. But – let us confess it – however faithful may have been the productions, these classical plays has become- for the ordinary playgoers, a bit of bore. Because of the attitude to play “BONGAON DHULA URANIA” is a team of group theatre, which has been working for nearly 11 years. History is a way of looking things, but we are interested in present. Aeschylus or Kalidasa, Howard Fast or Badal Sircar doesn’t belong to the past. If it theirs’ materials are valid, it is valid now. In our project, we are trying to rediscover these classics as living things, and then we shall be able to analyze our discoveries. The process had started with our production of “Journey of Spartacus”.

“ANIRDRISTO” was staged in 2008. Which written by Pinakpani Deb & Dipankar Haldar and directed by Goutam Mridha, Since then, BONGAON DHULAURANIA worked in multiple and experimental sectors in theatre. Bongaon Dhulaurania worked with various NGOs, like Calcutta Samaritans’, Jabala etc, continuing with marginal people of border areas, footpath, slum dwellers and girls.

Dhulaurania has also a long-standing promotional street drama for various organizations, among which are the government organization PHE, Ambuja Cement, The mobile store, Banglanatak.com etc.

BONGAON DHULAURANIA is committed to perform and given their best to the field of theatre as well as the society. We have worked for various social work and accountable for future too.
